Heather Williams, Founder
I have always wanted to help others in some capacity. I went to college to become a therapist, majoring in psychology with an intention to go directly into a graduate program. However, life had a different plan and I went on a journey toward discovering myself and healing my own trauma along the way.
My journey took me far away from my original intention, spending years working in the legal education industry. But it also brought me a family I can always rely on, friends I would have never met, and a wife I cannot begin to imagine my life without. These people I would have never encountered helped me become the person I am and gave me the courage to look toward my original dream.
I earned my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, with a concentration in Health Psychology, from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, graduating in 2025. My internship was completed at the Center on Halsted, one of the largest LGBTQ+ community centers in the U.S. My own personal experiences and the experiences of those around me during the election and the aftershocks led me to my decision to uproot my family, sell all our belonging and move to the Netherlands.
I am an immigrant here in the Netherlands and do not yet speak Dutch. I founded Steady Path International Support Services to help others. Whether that help looks like a life coach, helping someone else find their own voice to make life transitions easier, assisting others with daily tasks they might otherwise not have the time to do, or providing support with caring for someone’s own furkid.
At the end of the day, only we as humans have control over our own thoughts, actions, and feelings. Your reactions, how you feel, what you say is all up to you. But as someone who did not make it here on my own, I also know that having someone by your side without judgment can make all the difference in where you end up.
